A Birthday and a Beginning

Yesterday, my blog turned two. The celebrations lasted only a few moments in my mind, for bigger things needed attention. My bestie entered a new phase of life with opportunity, hope, conviction and apprehensions, but I hope the first three stay. I, too, have embarked on a new journey, but there's not much to talk about it yet. Beginnings are slow I guess. Maybe that's why my blog entries were restricted to just one or two every month when it had just been born. Not laziness or procrastination, but a firm belief in the fact that writing must never be forced or deliberated. As Coelho's protagonist in The Zahir puts it, “The book writes itself, the writer is just the typist...”. I wrote only when I felt this state, only when I became the typist, just the typist. And that didn't happen as often as I would have liked it too. So maybe, this is also the beginning of a time when I choose to write even when I am totally conscious of every word, though penning things that way makes it a self-critical process, something that thwarts the very thoughts that are the source of it.

Nevertheless, after many moments of fulfilment, blogger's-blocks, and the joy of seeing inspiring comments, I wish to thank you all for peeping into my little world and contemplating over it, even if for a fleeting second. Blogland is my Neverland, a place where I have found myself by losing myself. And Anirudh, thanks for giving a new lease of life to my once passive blog. The Dewdrops nourished and replenished it to a state where faith can now keep it alive even in the absence of words. From 'Life Etc.' to 'By the way' to 'Nib 'n Notes' (a phrase that I adopted from an article in a magazine), I have tried calling it by different names and fitting it into different frames, but I guess nothing, and at the same time, everything works, for in the end, it is about you, life and everything!

Many have suggested that I should make my blog professional instead of purely personal, but the fact is, I can't make it anything more than what it chooses to be... I'm just the typist!

Well, all said, I do hope that my toddler grows into a fine young human being (genders don't matter) even if in tiny steps and strokes, and at the same time, not losing it's innocence or wonder, even as it gets seasoned with all the years of experience.

Thank you all!

Is it? Hate the phrase 'middle age', it's so similar to the Dark Ages. The last thing I would want my blog to be is complacent.

Anyway... thanks for being one of the few recent visitors who have been sweet enough to appreciate my silly thoughts and even bring in friends :)

Hello!
I'm also a big Paulo Coelho fan and I don't know if you’ve heard about his blog

I started as a fan and now I'm collaborating with him and thought that you would like to enter his universe.
Check out the blog, if you want, or subscribe to his newsletter

QUOTE OF THE DAY:
"Wherever you want to see the face of God you will see it."

See you there and have a great day!

The book writes itself, the writer is just the typist...Another of Paulo Coelho's heart stopping quotes.

I know the spontaneity in writing you have talked about, writing indeed is a passive act...We just sit and type, God knows who writes the book!

I have found your blog, thanks to Val who gave me Left Brain Playground for my birthday! You were kind enough to leave me a few words when I inaugarated mine...want to say that I love your words...all of them! Happy New Year to your blog and please continue "typing" your thoughts as they form. Words are like that - they fly in, they fly out. Try to catch them as you can.:-)
